Autos

200      Nasser Al Attiyah / Mathieu Baumel (QAT / AND)

“It’s quite an amazing feeling to win this race for the third time. It was not easy, so that makes winning even better for me. We want to win as many races as we can. I’m quite happy to win every time and everywhere.

“It’s very important to win for me, Mathieu (Baumel), the team, the sponsors and everybody who support me. One thing I have learned is that if you want to win you need to work very hard. Everybody has to work hard, the crew and the team. Only then will you get results like this.”

201      Yazeed Al Rajhi / Michael Orr (SAU / GBR)

“It was a good week. We had some small issues today, but overall, we enjoyed the challenge of competition. It’s a very difficult race with a high level of competition. But that’s what makes it even more exciting.”

202      Lucio Alvarez / Armand Monleon (ARG / SPA)

“It was a good week and we finished second behind the champions who have a lot of experience. Compared to them I am an amateur and they are professionals. So, it feels good even if I finished second. He’s a great champion and ambassador for the sport.”

410      Mansour Al Helei / Abdulla Dakhan (ARE / ARE)

“I am happy to be done with the rally, and thanks to everyone who has been behind the success of this event. My gratitude to my sponsors Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), in particular for believing in me.

“It’s been a great adventure for me no doubt. I realise that you need more experience in taking care of the car than driving it fast. Everything was fine for me in the end. Yes, I lost some time getting used to it and adapting to this even with some broken parts. But I’m happy to be back at the finish with some world champions and Dakar winners.”

701      Martin Prokop / Viktor Chytka (CZE / CZE)

“I really enjoyed myself trying out new stuff. And today we found a very good set-up, so I’m really happy. We improved every day and the feeling was better and better. We came here with huge expectations for the car and we are overall happy with how it performed. We have another new car currently in production back home, which, all going well will be shipped to Saudi Arabia on Christmas Eve.”

705      Guillaume De Mevius / Tom Colsoul (BEL / BEL)

“I am really happy to have finished. It was very good for me as I have little experience on sand. I learnt a lot especially from my very experienced co-driver Tom. I gained a lot from him.”

204      Jakub Przygonski / Timo Gottschalk (POL / DEU)

“Today was a nice stage with a lot of small jumps – on one we flew 40 or 50 metres. I am pleased to say we had a soft landing. Overall, it was a nice rally.”

400      Austin Jones / Gustavo Gugelmin (USA / BRA)

“Right now, it looks like we have won the World Cup. I am just waiting with a lot of tension. It’s been a crazy season and my navigator has been incredible. I am really happy to be here, and I cannot believe it.”

700      Erik Van Loon / Sebastien Delaunay (NLD / FRA)

“It was very important that we finish today. It was an easy stage, but we had a few problems with the camshaft. I call this truck Tiramisu because I don’t like Tiramisu. There are too many ups and downs, but look, we kept the car in one piece. “We tried a lot of different things today with a different suspension, and it was good. I’m happy with the car and the way we did this tricky rally.
