5-star Luxury Tempts Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge Competitors

ABU DHABI (UAE). Wednesday, April 4, 2012: The magnificent Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara was the setting for the start of the second of today’s (Wednesday, April 4) stages in the 2012 Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge.

Mohammed Ben Sulayem, founder of the Desert Challenge and president of the rally organisers, the Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE, was joined by General Manager of the hotel, Wael Soueid, to flag off the competitors from the entrance to the luxury, five star resort.

The riders and drivers had earlier covered the 168 kilometres of stage one of Leg 3, battling across the massive red dunes south of the Liwa Oasis. Stage two of the day saw them head north of the Empty Quarter desert, before looping south again and finishing the 178km stage back at the bivouac camp.
